Where does water come from?
WATER is a closed system: All of the water that exists on earth today existed when the planet was first formed.
Water in the Oceans, river, ponds and lakes is heated by the sun, which turns it into water vapor, ( which is kind of like invisible water) and the vapor forms a cloud up in the sky. When a cloud gets so full of water that it can't hold anymore, it rains! The rain water travels back into our rivers and oceans, or it soaks down deep into the ground, creating more groundwater. It's a great system!

Information.
-Reservoir levels are falling because it isn’t raining as regularly as it did in the past.
-The reservoirs feeding many of our towns and cities are at less than 40% capacity.
-Microwaves and dishwashers became the norm, and as technology advanced, we got fatter and greedier. By the mid-nineties we no longer had any concept of conservation, or even moderation: all of the lights in the house stayed on at all times, we let the taps run while we brushed our teeth.
-33% people of the world would like to purchase $2 bottle of water while other don’t have much access to it.
- Rural Victoria: Farmers, machinery business, companies…suffering because of drought . Lead to depressed, marriages break down, wives and kids leave the family farm to find jobs; suicidal and they never seen rain for years.
- Imagine if every morning you had to get up at the crack of dawn and work for miles down uneven paths to the nearest water hole to collect your family’s water for the day. Then imagine the state of water: filthy, buzzing with flies, polluted, bacteria, dirty, murky and the same source used by wild animals. In many countries it take you more than 6 hours every day to collect enough water for your family for a single day’s needs.
-In Africa, 40 billion working hour are lost each year because people (women) have to spend time fetching and carrying water -> there is little time for education, or other skills, work.
-In Africa women often walk 6km or more every day to fetch water in containers that can weigh upwards of 50 pounds. Carry on the head, back or hip is tough on a body.
-Paths: narrow, slippery, and dangerous.
WITHOUT WATER WE WOULD DIE WITHIN 3 DAYS

Why Our Body Needs Water?
We can live without food for weeks. But we'll die in a matter of days without water.
Every cell in the human body requires water. We need water to:
+ digest food, dissolving nutrients so they can go around the body
+ carry waste products out of the body
+ cooling body with moisture that evporates on our skin
+ Our muscle and fat tissue needs water
